JULY 2026

Hard on the heels of signing of The Tate Collection to the Racing Past Media project,

BRM and Classic Team Lotus have also entered into long term commercial contracts with RPM for archive development and sale.

In the case of BRM this includes a continuation of the archive digitisation project in partnership with Iron Mountain. This amounts to over 80,000 feet of film. Which promises to be the most comprehensive film record of the first thirty years of the Formula One World Championship.

Paul Owen, Director of BRM; “We are delighted to be joining the Racing Past Media project. It gives us the opportunity to fully activate the huge BRM film archive that tells the story of the formative years of Formula One and the pioneering efforts of BRM.”

The new partnership with Classic Team Lotus promises fresh insights into one of the most famous brands in the sport and its great innovator Colin Chapman. It will offer rarely seen material from the Chapman archives, newly researched material from local broadcasters and classic documentaries.

Clive Chapman the Managing Director of Classic Team Lotus said; ”I am delighted for Team Lotus to be participating in this excellent Racing Past Media initiative. Teaming up with RPM and partners in creating a fabulous resource will be appreciated by motor sport lovers worldwide. “

The Racing Past Media project was set up 5 years ago to research and consolidate TV and film coverage from the inception of the Formula One World Championship in 1950 through to 1980, perhaps the most dynamic era of development and innovation in any global sport.
